The U.K. Gupta & Family Scholarship is a $2,500 award designed to financially support students pursuing degrees that will lead to manufacturing careers.

Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs has been awarding this scholarship since 1990.

Make sure you submit your transcript and application prior to the deadlines as there are two deadlines; one for spring and another for fall scholarships.

The NBT Board of Directors will decide about the annual award amounts and the number of scholarships available.

You should also bear in mind that the money will not be sent to you, but to the financial aid department of the school you are attending and it can be used for the payment of tuition, books and other school fees.

Who's eligible?

The eligible applicants for The U. K. Gupta Family Scholarship Endowment are those who have a 3.0 GPA (or an 85% competency score) and are currently enrolled in or entering a university engineering program or related field.

The eligible applicant must have a 2.5 GPA for trade, community, or technical colleges or a 3.0 GPA for universities.

Primary preference will be given to students attending universities in North Texas and in the State of Texas only.

How to Apply

If you are interested in applying, you should know some application requirements that you must meet.

Besides an online application, documents that must be provided are an official high school or college transcript from the school where you last completed a semester which must be sent by the educational institution you last attended.

They can either be sent via transcript services such as Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse or via mail to Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs, 2135 Point Boulevard, Elgin, IL 60123.

The applications will be reviewed and scholarship award decisions will be made in October/November for spring terms and in April/May for fall terms.

Those who become lucky scholarship recipients must reply to the email award notification to accept the award and verify their email address.

They are also required to submit a photo and a signed photo release form and contact information for your local media outlets.
