Society of Women Engineers – Lehigh Valley Section offers the scholarship for women since 2001.

The Lehigh Valley Section has a well-established scholarship program for local women entering undergraduate engineering programs and seeking higher education in certain fields.

The award is designed for high school senior women who are pursuing a major in engineering at the accredited college or university.

 

Full Description

The award is up to $5,000 and it is given to the lucky recipient on SWE-LV Annual Banquet in May.

Scholarship funds are given to those applicants who are the most deserving ones according to their academic achievement, extracurricular and leadership activities, an evaluation form and an essay.

 

Who's eligible?

There are certain eligibility requirements set by Society of Women Engineers – Lehigh Valley Section and only those applicants who meet the criteria will be taken into consideration.

Eligible applicants must reside in areas with zip codes beginning 177-187 and 195-196, including over 20 counties in Pennsylvania.

They have to be enrolled as first year students in an ABET accredited engineering program.

Furthermore, applicants must identify as female and be graduating from High School.

It is important to note that majors in engineering technologies, computer technology, computer science, and information systems are not qualified for this scholarship.

If you find yourself eligible and you have a wish or need to apply for it, you are encouraged to do so.

Those who have already received the award are not eligible.

How to Apply

The scholarship application submittal process starts in Fall and lasts until February 10th, so if you happen to be the recipient, you will get a notification on April 2nd.
