The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation was established in 1956 by concerned industry leaders as a nonprofit, private, industry-directed corporation and since then it has been providing financial assistance to talented young men and women who are interested in graphic communications careers.
PGSF is helping approximately 300 students annually.
The PGSF has two main missions – to attract young people to the industry and if they are pursuing post-secondary education in order to enter the field, to provide financial assistance to them.
They are achieving these goals along with its donors and sponsors, through a $5000 scholarship.
A scholarship is renewable for up to four years of college if the recipient maintains a high-grade average and continues in an approved program of study.
Once you submit your application form, you will be eager to know how the selection of finalists will be made.
Actually, the Scholarship Selection Committee of PGSF, consisting of college educators and industry leaders experienced in interpreting test scores, school records, and other pertinent information, will judge all the application forms on the basis of the applicant’s academic records, recommendations offered from instructors, advisors, and employers, biographical records, and extracurricular interests and activities.
The announcement of winners will be done via a letter and the winner is required to return a form that confirms enrollment in an approved college and the student’s signature verifying acceptance of the scholarship so as to be able to get the award.
In addition to the money, all current recipients are given an honorary membership in the Printing Industries of America for the duration of their studies.
The Scholarship Foundation offers scholarships to qualified and interested students who want to prepare for careers in this growing, dynamic industry.
The eligible applicant must have a 3.0 GPA or better and full-time status.
He/she has to be a student who is, or will be, enrolled in a printing or graphics program at a technical school, college or university within the United States or must be pursuing a career in printing technology, printing management, or graphic communication.
