The Richard S. Thompson and Marion L. Thompson Memorial Fund is able to award the amazing $10000 per year to five winners thanks to their generous donors.

Since its beginning, the organization has awarded over $761,000 in financial support to 135 individuals.

It is a merit based scholarship designed for High School Seniors, Undergraduate and Graduate Students.

Who's eligible?

This is a scholarship which has certain eligibility requirements and it is there to help and support Lee County students who are eager to achieve a post high school science education.
The eligibility requirements that need to be fulfilled so that the application is accepted are:
• The applicant must have a GPA of at least 3.5 which will prove his/her educational achievements.
• He/ she must graduate from a high school in Lee County and must be pursuing a post-secondary science education.
If you meet these criteria, you are encouraged to apply for this award and the selected applicants will be called for an interview on which it will be determined who the winner is.

How to Apply

The only way of applying for this scholarship is by accessing an online application and answering the Prequalifying Questions.

As there are many scholarships awarded by the same foundation, your answers to these questions will determine which the scholarship you are eligible for.

If you are eligible for the scholarship you want to apply for, you can select it and then send your application.  Firstly, you will be prompted to create a password and your email address will be your username.

The scholarship application process starts on December 17th and finishes on February 24th.

The documentation that you will need to provide and attach to your application form is the Federal Student Financial Aid Application (FAFSA) and the Student Aid Report (SAR).

Furthermore, official or unofficial transcript will be required, as well as your SAT and/or ACT test scores.

Last, but not the least, one Reference Letter is required which should be from a person who is not the member of the applicant’s family.
