PSGC Graduate Research Fellowship Program at Penn State

The Pennsylvania Space Grant Consortium awards one-year fellowships in the amount of $5,000 per academic year to outstanding students who are ready to promote graduate study leading to masters or doctoral degrees in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and humanities-related to NASA research and development.

Full Description

The reason why NASA’s Space Grant Program is offered to young learners is to attract, recruit and train U.S. citizens, especially women, underrepresented minorities, and persons with disabilities, for careers in aerospace science and technology, so people belonging to these groups will be given preference and are highly encouraged to apply for this scholarship.

The number of awardees is determined each year, depending on the quality of applicants, but the amount is always the same, the amazing $5000.

Who's eligible?

It is highly suggested that all interested applicants first take a look at the qualifications and considerations that are mandatory prior to submit the application form.

Eligible people are Penn State – University Park graduate students who are pursuing a degree in one of the following fields of study  Agricultural Sciences, Earth and Mineral Sciences, Eberly College of Science, Education, Engineering, Health and Human Development, Information Sciences and Technology, and the Liberal Arts.

Applicants do not need to be working on a NASA-funded project to be considered for the award.

Additionally, an eligible applicant must be a U.S. citizen admitted to Penn State’s Graduate School and who is enrolled as a full-time student (9 credits).

Current or past PSGC Fellows may apply for up to one additional year of funding.

If you happen to be the lucky fellow, you will have to participate in PSGC-sponsored mentoring or education outreach activities for a minimum of ten hours per semester.
