The Marco Island Foundation For The Arts is a charitable nonprofit organization, established in 2003.

Each year, this organization offers $1500 to a deserving student chosen by the committee.

Full Description

The foundation has been founded with the aim to support the visual, literary and performing arts in public places in Marco Island and at the same time gather people into one community, promote the arts and reach out to other groups.

They have noticed the need to support young artists in their aim to reach higher education goal and become successful young people.

Who's eligible?

Just as with any other scholarship, certain requirements have to be met so that you are able to become one of the possible winners.

The Marco Island Foundation for the Arts (MIFA) awards scholarships is there to help deserving students who reside on Marco Island or attend school on Marco Island.

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must have demonstrated excellence in visual, literary, or performing arts, and intend to study one of the arts at the college level.

If you do not meet the above mentioned criteria, do not waste your time sending the application form, as it would be rejected.

How to Apply

The application procedure for the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts scholarships is simple and all the documentation must be submitted before April 30th.

The application, school transcript, examples of work, and narrative sketch should be sent to the following address:  Marco Island Foundation for the Arts PO Box 1091 Marco Island, FL 34146

The important thing is that the Confidential Faculty Evaluation Form must be submitted by the faculty members to the above mentioned address by April 30th, as otherwise the application would not be complete.

During the first week of May the MIFA Scholarship Committee will review applications, choose the finalists and conduct interviews with them, so make sure to be available for an interview at that period of time.

A completed application is the one which includes:

  • A completed application form
  • A copy of high school or college transcript
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A narrative sketch by the student
  • A sample of your discipline
