Lycoming College Creative Writing Scholarship

The Lycoming College Creative Writing Scholarship offers up to $3,000 to six people who are majoring in Creative Writing.

The scholarship is available thanks to the generous donor – Lycoming, a small Pennsylvania college.

The scholarship will be awarded to either incoming freshmen or transfer undergraduate students who declare a creative writing major.

As you are interested in applying for the Lycoming College Creative Writing Scholarship you should get familiar with the eligibility and application requirements.

What students like about this award is that the annual renewal is offered provided that they maintain satisfactory progress and meet the requirements.

Who's eligible?

In order to be eligible to apply for the Lycoming College Creative Writing Scholarship and to be accepted as regular candidates, applicants must be majoring in creative writing and submit five poems and/or a short story not to exceed ten pages.

Furthermore, if you happen to be the lucky scholarship recipient, you are required to enroll in ENGL 240 (freshman year) and maintain a minimum grade of at least an A-.

The scholarship is renewable, but in order to renew it after the first year of enrollment, you must enroll in a creative writing workshop(s) and maintain a minimum grade of at least an A-.

Ineligible applicants are suggested not to waste their time applying, as their applications will not be taken into consideration.

How to Apply

Those who meet the above-mentioned requirements are highly suggested to apply.

So that your application is considered complete, you will need to submit five poems and/or a short story which will not exceed ten pages.

The title of your essay should be Scholarship Submission for the Creative Writing Scholarship.

All these documents must be received prior to the deadline on March 15th, so that you will be considered for the award.

Late and incomplete applications will be rejected even though you are eligible.

You are required to send the application material to the Office of Admission, attn: Creative Writing Scholarship.

The applicant is responsible for meeting the deadline and submitting all the required files.
