Buster Lindsay Memorial Scholarship is one of many CFNIL’s scholarship, who are designed to support young people interested in doing sports professionally.

The funds for this scholarship are given by donors, generous people who recognize how important it is to help people who are eager to study but cannot achieve their educational goals due to the lack of financial assets.

Full Description

Just as the majority of CFNIL’s scholarships are memorials, meaning that they were created in honor of some person whose life and actions affected the sports life and whose contributions were great during his/her life, Buster Lindsay Memorial Scholarship celebrates the efforts this person selflessly made during her life.

The amount of money that is awarded depends on the funds offered by donors and it is available based on a variety of factors, and one of them is that you must be a Jefferson high school athlete.

Who's eligible?

First, you will need to fulfill certain requirements to be able to to apply for this scholarship.

You need to be:

  • A graduating senior from Jefferson High School where you have played sports for school team at least three years, including the senior year
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0 and plan to enroll in a college or university.

Furthermore, you should provide an essay answering the question why you are the best candidate for this scholarship.

How to Apply

CFNIL uses an online application system which can be found on their website, which is designed so as to lead you through the application process easily and without much trouble.

There are instructions that should be followed under the heading “How To Register and Apply”.

You will have to register, log in, fill in the application form and submit the necessary data and documentation and the application itself will match you with the scholarship you are eligible for.

All submitted applications would be reviewed and scored by volunteers determined by CFNIL who will make recommendations about who are the most eligible candidates for the scholarship.

The recipients will know that they have received the award by late April and the money will be sent to post-secondary institution directly.
