The Betty Stevens-Frecknall Scholarship is a national scholarship awarded annually.

The Foundation has been providing financial aid to deserving students with lack of financial assets necessary for their education

Full Description

The main aim of this scholarship is to support university students enrolled at an accredited degree program related to information technology and it is founded in honor of Betty Stevens-Frecknall , famous for a series of successes on major projects.

Who's eligible?

As for any other scholarship, the committee determines the eligibility criteria to be fulfilled so that an applicant can get the scholarship.

You should apply only if you find yourself eligible; otherwise your application will be rejected.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • He/she has to have a declared computer science/CIS/MIS/IT major with an overall and major GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Satisfactory completion of at least one full semester of college
  • He/she has to be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited institution in the United States
  • He/she has to be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident

One of the most important factors which will affect the decision is the exceptional service to fellow IT students/professionals.

How to Apply

The application process starts on January 1st and ends in May 31st , so make sure to provide the documentation on time.

The application process is done online, meaning that you should visit the official website of the scholarship provider and click on the button “Apply Online”.

There you will be asked to fill in the fields with your personal data as well as some additional information such as the name of your AITP Student Chapter, your cumulative GPA, the evidence of your scholastic ability, the evidence of leadership potential and the evidence of financial need.

Your career goals should also be stated within the application form.

All the applications received after May 31st will not be taken into consideration.

Once the application period is finished, the scholarship committee will review all the eligible applications during the summer and choose the ideal candidates for this scholarship.
