At ABC Wildlife, there is a constant need to support women who are critically underrepresented in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
ABC Wildlife is a woman-owned corporation which has the aim to provide financial aid to women pursuing their dreams in the scientific world.
That way, the number of women studying and influencing the future of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) will increase.
This scholarship was created by Urban Wildlife Manager Rebecca Fyffe.
One award of $1,000 will be given to the applicant whose essay is selected as the best one submitted, and up to nine other students may receive awards for their submissions.
Funds may be used for tuition, academic projects, medical expenses, housing, living expenses, transportation, or other education-related costs.
There are some criteria which must be met so as to be able to apply for the scholarship.
Firstly, this scholarship is open to persons who identify as female.
Applicant must be a student currently enrolled at a college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in the United States.
Then, he/she must be studying or planning to study the fields of science, engineering, mathematics, or technology.
Those people who are employed at ABC Wildlife or whose parent/legal guardians are the employees are not eligible for the scholarship.
You do not need to be a United States citizen to apply.
How to Apply
The application is easy, as you are supposed to write a 1000 words essay on the following topic:
Why are you passionate about science, technology, engineering, or math, and how will your pursuit of these fields help preserve biodiversity, improve the health of our planet, or alleviate human suffering?
When submitting the application form, the applicant must include “Women in STEM Scholarship” in the subject line of the submission email and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Besides the essay, you need to submit a proof of enrollment and one letter to serve as an academic reference before the application deadline on July 1st.
Winners will be selected by the ABC Wildlife team after the deadline and will be announced on July 15th.
