The Christian Missionary Scholarship Foundation

The Christian Missionary Scholarship Foundation offers scholarship with the aim to help the children of missionary families.

They are doing their best to make children use their Christian college education to make a further impact on the world and pass the blessing on to others in who are showing financial need.

Full Description

The great thing to know is that the awards given vary in amount and are renewable for four years, but only if the student is making satisfactory academic progress and is enrolled full time.

The scholarship foundation understands the sacrifices missionary families make and want to help these students and their families, especially if they prove the financial difficulties that they must struggle with.

Who's eligible?

People interested in applying for the Christian Missionary scholarship first need to meet the criteria set by the scholarship committee, related to eligible candidates.

So as to be considered for this scholarship, the applicant must be a child of missionaries currently on or recently returned from the mission field and who have made significant financial sacrifices to serve the Lord.

He/she has to be entering freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year.

Also, the scholarship recipients must attend one of the following colleges:

  • Calvin University (Grand Rapids, MI)
  • Dordt University (Sioux Center, IA)
  • Hope College (Holland, MI)
  • Kuyper College (Grand Rapids, MI)
  • Trinity Christian College (Palos Heights, IL)
  • Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL).

Ineligible students should not waste their time applying, as their applications will not be taken into consideration.

The scholarships amounts vary, but the award is also available for graduates planning to attend medical school.

How to Apply

Those students who happen to be the lucky scholarship recipients are not restricted to a particular major or academic program.

Make sure that you submit the online applications, both student and parent, before the application submission deadline on February 1.

Otherwise, your applications will not be taken into consideration even if you are eligible for the award.

Some of the questions you need to provide answers to are:

How have the essential truths of Christianity impacted your life and your personal journey of faith?

What are your career goals and how do they support your vision of your future after college?
