The scholarship is sponsored by TVIW supporters Baen Books alongside Rob and Ruann Hampson and it is a merit-based one created to assist the deserving students.
The main aim of this foundation is to provide scholarships to two college students who need financial aid and the founders believe that $2500 which are awarded each year should be used as a support for the payment of expensive educational fees and tuition.
For each scholarship, as well as for the Tennessee Valley Interstellar Workshop Scholarship, there are eligibility requirements that have to be fulfilled.
Not all people are eligible to apply for it and it is advisable not to waste your time if you do not meet one of the eligibility criteria.
Applicants for the undergraduate scholarships must be high school seniors in the southeast United States, meaning the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia.
Furthermore, they have to plan to pursue a degree in a STEM related field and it should be achieved at any accredited, four-year American college or university.
As there is also a graduate scholarship, the applicant for this one should be full-time college or university student majoring in a STEM related field at an accredited college or university in the United States.
