The Nikon Storytellers Scholarship has the aim to support the education of young content creators.
The Nikon Storytellers Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in visual arts, fine arts, journalism, film, photography, and multimedia/content creation and ten individuals will be awarded an academic scholarship of $10,000.
Scholarships will be awarded for use in the coming academic school year and the funds can be used to help foster the recipient’s growth and pursue careers in creative fields.
The Nikon Storytellers Scholarship committee has determined certain eligibility criteria so as to make the selection easier, so you are suggested not to apply if you do not meet all of the following requirements.
The applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited, non-profit college/university or vocational/technical school in the United States or Canada.
He/she must complete his/her freshman year of college or academic equivalent prior to commencement of the next academic year.
The applicant must be majoring in visual arts, fine arts, journalism, film, photography, or multimedia/content creation and has a minimum cumulative 2.5-grade point average at the time of application.
How to Apply
The Application Process requires that you visit the scholarship provider’s official website and create an AIM account using your e-mail address and chosen password.
Once you log in, you will be able to fill out and submit the Nikon Storytellers Scholarship application.
Besides the application form that has to be submitted so as to apply for the Nikon Storytellers Scholarship, you will need to provide a recommendation from a professor, teacher or academic advisor.
If you happen to be selected as a semi-finalist, you will then have to provide a photo portfolio or video submission, description of photo/video submission and copy of academic transcript according to which the winner will be determined.
The application process opens in January and you are supposed to provide all the documentation prior to the application deadline on March 15th.
Semi-Finalist documentation submission starts on April 1st and finishes on April 30th.
The winner will be notified in June, while funds will be disbursed in August
