This NCGA-BASF college scholarship is created in honor of Ohio farmer William C. Berg.

He served in various positions for both the Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association and the National Corn Growers Association and he fought for the rights of farmers and wanted to make them better positioned in the society.

Full Description

The National Corn Growers Association together with BASF Corporation give five amazing awards to undergraduate and graduate students, and it is great that it is for students who are pursuing a degree in any field.

They will get $1000 scholarship at the beginning of the year, they will be able to attend the NCGA Banquet and have the opportunity to learn more about modern agriculture.

The requirement is that the student must be an NCGA member or son/daughter of an NCGA member.

Who's eligible?

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you will have to meet certain requirements and they include the following.

You have to be entering at least second undergraduate year at an accredited junior college, college or university.

He/she has to be an NCGA member or son/daughter of an NCGA member, however, it is important to know that the employees and the families of employees of NCGA or any division of BASF or their subsidiaries are not eligible for the scholarship.

How to Apply

Besides the completed application, there is additional documentation that has to be submitted so as to apply for this scholarship.

It includes the current transcript from junior college, college or university and three letters of recommendation.

These letters should be from non-family members, while one of them should be from a faculty member.

Furthermore, you will have to add your current resume or list of activities, awards and honors and write a 500-word essay on the topic “How will you positively impact agriculture in your future career?”

Additionally, you are supposed to write a few paragraphs on “What are the three most important issues facing agriculture today?”

All the above mentioned data should be sent together.

The deadline for submission of the applications is December 1st and scholarships are valid for one year.
