The NACME Scholars Program is designed to provide block grants to colleges and universities that give the money to talented African American, American Indian, and Latino students who are currently enrolled in engineering programs.

This award is a part of their financial aid packages, meaning that students have to prove their financial need and might be asked to provide the financial aid report as a part of the application process.

NACME awards financial support to young generations and the organization has awarded more than $4 million in scholarships annually.

NACME is proud to support approximately 1,000 underrepresented minority engineering and computer students.

The amount of award and number of scholarship winners vary by partnership institution, but the money awarded is typically between $1,500 – $4,000 each year.

Who's eligible?

NACME’s Scholars (Block Grant) Program is designed for minority college students and they can be first-year students identified by NACME or the partner universities, transfer students from two-year colleges, and currently enrolled students who have completed at least one year of engineering study.

If you are interested in scholarship eligibility requirements, here are the criteria:

To be eligible for any NACME administered scholarship students must be either be a high school senior applying to an engineering or computer science program at a NACME Partner Institution or be currently matriculating in an engineering or computer science program at a NACME Partner Institution.

Furthermore, he/she has to be a US citizen or permanent resident who has a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.8.

NACME’s mission is to increase the representation of Black/African American, Latinx/Hispanic-American and Native/American Indians in the fields of engineering and computer science, so the applicant has to belong to one of these groups.
