The scholarship is awarded in honor of Josef Princ, a native of Slovenia, Yugoslavia, graduated with an Engineering Degree from the University of Ljubljana, who loved being an American and was proud of his many accomplishments there.

Full Description

Josef Princ Memorial Scholarship requires that you provide a verification of college enrollment before check is mailed to the college.

The money can only be used for the payment of tuition, fees and other education related expenses and they are disbursed in equal payments over two semesters.

Who's eligible?

In order to be eligible for this amazing award, there are certain eligibility requirements to be fulfilled.

Firstly, Josef Princ Memorial Scholarship awards four $2,000 to CCSD Nevada male seniors who are of European descent.

Those who apply for the Josef Princ Memorial Scholarship must also have a minimum 3.5 GPA and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary college or university majoring in engineering, mathematics or science.

Furthermore, it is important to demonstrate financial need so as to be accepted as eligible candidate.

How to Apply

The application process consists of submitting a 400-500 essay in which you will be answering the question, such as:

“What do you find most challenging about a college major in engineering, math or science?”

“With an undergraduate degree in one of these fields, explain the impact you could have on society.”

“ Identify a form of art you feel best parallels engineering, mathematics and science. “

“What are your greatest leadership qualities?”

The application process requires that you answer the following questions:

  • Are you a U.S. citizen?
  • Do you have any siblings who currently attend college, and if you have them, you should state their age.
  • How can you explain your exact involvement in community service?
  • Can you provide the names of any supervisor(s) and hours of participation in the community service?
  • Can you note all AP Classes as well as Honor Classes that you have taken in High School, including second semester?

In order to prove your financial need, you will have to indicate the amount of your personal savings and that of your family, as well as a copy of your parent’s most recent tax return.

You can do this by uploading a “Financial Need Letter” explaining why you need assistance with your college/school expenses.

Additional documentation which you have to submit are your resume your most current transcript (unofficial), a letter of recommendation from someone who will speak to your ability to succeed and a letter of recommendation from any source.

The application form with all the documentation should be submitted before 31st January, and all the applications received after that would not be taken into consideration.
