This scholarship is created so as to inspire South Korean scholars to utilize their knowledge to enhance the viability of the South Korean economy and to interest American scholars in Korea.

That way the bilateral cultural, economic, and political exchanges between the United States and the Republic of Korea would be improved and further developed.

 

Full Description

Both U.S. citizens and South Korea scholars are eligible to apply for Hyundai Scholarships, but Hyundai scholarship candidates must take their coursework at the Foggy Bottom Campus.

The number and the amount of awards are limited, but most frequently they are up to $5,000 (full-time) or $2,500 (part-time) for the academic year.

Who's eligible?

When it comes to eligibility, only those applicants which fulfill the below mentioned criteria would be accepted as a possible candidates for this stunning award.

Hyundai Scholarships are one year scholarships for J-1 or U.S. Citizens that are incoming and studying at the PhD or Master’s level at GWU in the School of Engineering and Applied Science or the School of Business.

Pay attention to the fact that other schools and programs are not eligible, as well as current students.

Awards are given to South Korean and U.S. citizens, but Korean Applicants are expected to return to Korea upon completion of their programs of study as they will be able to contribute to the economic advancement of Korea.

U.S. students have to prove their commitment to Korea in the past and in future careers.

All recipients must be full-time masters or doctoral students.

Furthermore, they have to demonstrate high scholastic achievement.

Incoming Korean students must have minimum TOEFL scores of 600 on the written test or 105 on the internet-based exam, or an IELTS overall band score of 7.0.
