Grand Rapids Community Foundation has the aim to help Kent County students through hundreds of scholarships.

Students should be attending colleges or those pursuing a technical career and one of its amazing scholarships is the Mildred E. Troske Music Scholarship.

The award amount is determined each year by the scholarship committee, depending on the number of applicants.

You can get this information once the application process starts.

Awards range from $500 to $5,000 depending on the availability of funds and are non-renewable.

The scholarship is awarded to only one candidate and the selection is based on academic performance and financial need.

Who's eligible?

To meet eligibility requirements for the GRCF Mildred E. Troske Music Scholarship, students must be Kent County residents two-year minimum and a graduate or undergraduate student majoring in music at any college in the U.S.

Also, applicants must prove financial need and a minimum 3.0 GPA so as to be accepted as future recipients.

Those who consider themselves eligible are highly encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

By completing a general application available on the Grand Rapids Foundation website, you will automatically be considered for more than 70 scholarship funds.

Depending on your backgrounds, GPA’s, areas of study and levels of education, the system will determine which scholarship you are eligible for and match your application with it.

The application process consists of a few steps and you will need to submit the application form and the scholarship committee comprised of volunteers from all over Kent County will inform you about the status of your application.

You are required to submit your official transcripts with the application, a list of awards and volunteer/employment/extracurricular activities and if you are a high school senior, you must include a first-semester senior year.
