Golden Door Scholars supports young students through scholarships.

Their aim is to convince future students that there is nothing that should stop them from applying to college, not even financial difficulties.

The foundation is there to help DACA and TPS students who have financial difficulties and cannot pay the expensive educational costs

Full Description

It is important that you attend one of Golden Door partner schools, but the foundation is expanding and more and more four year institutions would become new partner schools.

The scholarship will be awarded to academically successful students, involved in extracurricular activities and who have leadership qualities.

Who's eligible?

When it comes to eligibility requirements, you will have to meet all the criteria in order to become a possible award winner.

You will have to be a high school senior, recent high school graduate, or currently enrolled in college pursuing an undergraduate degree who is willing to apply to or attend one of the Golden Door Scholars Partner Schools and willing to explore and apply for other scholarships in addition to the Golden Door Scholarship.

You will need to have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals due to the fact that Golden Door Scholars supports professional experiences and you as an applicant must be eligible to participate in paid internships.

The scholarship does not support funding for graduate degrees and if you are lucky enough to get it, you are expected to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA each semester.

High school graduates from states that require undocumented students to pay out-of-state tuition would have advantage over other applicants and are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

The application process requires that you provide your high school and/or college transcript, your class rank and class size, information related to your leadership and extracurricular activities and an essay.

After you submit your application, it will be reviewed and you will get notification via email.

If you happen to be a chosen candidate, the next step would be the interview during which the committee will determine the most eligible student to get the award.

The deadline for application submission is October 25th and all the documents received after that would not be taken into consideration.
