Since 1955, National AMBUCS, Inc. has awarded scholarships to students and to date, more than $8.9 million in scholarships have been awarded.

Full Description

This is one two-year award in the amount of $6,000 and the money will be given to the financial aid office of the educational institution that the recipient is enrolled in.

Who's eligible?

Considering the eligibility requirements, the interested applicants should know that they need to be students who are US citizens accepted in a graduate-level program that is accredited by the appropriate therapy profession authority in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, or hearing audiology.

Assistant or undergraduate programs are not eligible for this award.

Being that this is a need-based scholarship, the applicant has to prove his/her financial difficulties as well as his/her commitment to the local community.

How to Apply

Being that you have determined that you are eligible for this award, it is important to know the application procedure and timeline.

National AMBUCS, Inc. has set the application period during which they accept applications for the scholarship program.

It starts on March 4th and ends on May 5th each year, so all those application forms received by that moment will be reviewed and the most deserving candidate will be selected.

If your application comes after this date, it will not be considered for the award, no matter if you are eligible for the AMBUCS Scholars- Scholarships for Therapists.

Students must submit all parts of the application.

Everything is done online and the system allows students to save their work, return later and continue where they left.

Besides filling out general information, the applicant will need to upload:

  • Their FAFSA Student Aid Report
  • Proof of enrollment into an accredited program
  • One page personal statement.

You need to have in mind the fact that it can take several weeks for the SAR to be delivered, so make sure everything is gathered and submitted before the deadline.

As this is a need-based scholarship, financial need the most important step every applicant must pass.

The applicant is required to upload a document from his/her registrar’s office confirming his/her enrollment and if the registrar’s office does not give you a proof of enrollment in your first year, you may upload your acceptance letter.
