A need-based $1,000 scholarship awarded once every year to talented candidate aiming to build a career in computer science or information technology but doesn’t have sufficient financial means to complete their education.

ComputerScienceMajor.org is a website aiming to provide people with career and education tips and advice from experts in computer science and information technology.

Visitors may access through the website career and educational path resources for computer science and IT, a job search portal, information about scholarships, expert tips and advice and professional data resources.

Their annual Road to the Future scholarship is granted to promising computer science and IT students who don’t have sufficient financial means to complete their education.

In order to apply, current or prospective students must write a 500 words essay describing their individual computer science or IT career goals. The winner must be willing to share his/her experience both on this website and on social media platforms.

The amount of the scholarship is $1,000, the deadline for the application is November 1, 2024 and the winner will be notified in the first week of January, 2025.

Who's eligible?

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be:

  • Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university
  • Majoring in computer science or information technology
  • Lacking sufficient financial means to pursue their degree
  • Willing to share their experience on the awarding body’s website and social media platforms in case they are awarded the scholarship
