The Blogging Scholarship has the aim to help young bloggers because its founders love bloggers and make a living as bloggers.
If you are interested in the Budding Blogger Scholarship but you do not know whether you are eligible for it, we can say that this scholarship is open to students that intend on majoring in journalism at a 2 or 4 year college/university, as well as to those students that will be entering the workforce and will pursue a freelance media career.
The Budding Blogger Scholarship Committee has determined some eligibility requirements that each applicant has to meet so as to be accepted as a possible winner of this award.
The requirements are that the applicant’s blog must contain unique and interesting information about him/her and things he/she is passionate about.
Then, he/she needs to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who is currently attending full-time in post-secondary education in the United States.
There is no GPA requirement.
If the applicant happens to be the lucky recipient of the award, he/she must agree to allow the Budding Blogger Scholarship committee to list his/her name and blog on their official page.
Also, the awardees will be required to submit their unofficial high school transcripts.
How to Apply
The application process starts by filling out the Budding Blogger Scholarship Fund’s application form which is short and easy to complete.
Students will be asked to submit their media portfolio such as photos, audio, video, etc.
The applications are being accepted from the moment the application process starts to the submission application date which is November 13th.
On November 27th, the winner will be announced on the Budding Blogger Scholarship official blog.
You will need to write a 1,000-word essay in which you are supposed to answer any of the following questions:
- What is the most interesting or inspiring blog post you have ever read? Why did you find it inspiring?
- How have you used blogging to help yourself or others?
- What is the most powerful social change you have seen come out of blogging?
- Why did you start blogging?
