SAPA Scholarship & Excellence in Education Program

The SAPA Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program was established by the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA) in 1999 with the purpose to recognize and support educational excellence.

Full Description

The committee appointed by SAPA will review all valid applications and recommend the most outstanding candidates for consideration by the SAPA Board of Trustees.

Finalists will be selected based on the demonstrated potential for and commitment to a career in life sciences, as well as outstanding academic performance.

The Board of Trustees will name at least two SAPA scholars from the finalists and before they are able to receive the award, they must submit an acceptance letter of the Scholarship, and provide a direct deposit account at the attending college or university for SAPA to deposit scholarship payments, being that the payment will be made to the college or university.

Who's eligible?

Each applicant should have in mind all the eligibility requirements necessary to be fulfilled so as to be considered for nomination as a SAPA Scholar.

He/she must be a high school senior who is planning to attend a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited four-year college/university with a major related to life sciences.

His/her academic standing has to be excellent, with a minimum GPA of 3.3 and a minimum SAT score of 2000 out of 2400 or an ACT score of 30.

Last, but not least, he/she needs to be a United States citizen or permanent resident

How to Apply

Once all the application and eligibility requirements are met, you should apply and try your luck with this award.

The application instructions are the following and each applicant is required to submit all the application material, being that incomplete application will not be taken into consideration:

  • An essay describing why you want to pursue a life science-related career which should be approximately 600 words long.
  • Two letters of recommendation from teachers who can discuss your potential for a career in life science-related area
  • List of all awards received.
  • List of Advanced Placement or Honors courses with grades.

The application materials, including two sealed recommendation letters, should be sent in ONE package to SAPA via mail to:
