ASID Legacy Scholarship for Graduate Students

The ASID Foundation Legacy Scholarships is sponsored by Dora Brahms Fund, Mabelle Wilhelmina Boldt Fund, Yale R. Burge Fund, Raymond Kennedy Fund, Ethel Siegelman Fund, Alan Lucas Fund and they have decided to financially support younger generations in their pursuant of higher education.

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)  has been offering Scholarship and Grant awards to young students with the aim to support research and expand public knowledge on the impact of design and at the same time encourage students to enroll in accredited institutions offering this kind of knowledge and degrees.

The Legacy Scholarship for Graduate Students Award is $4,000 and the number of winners will vary each year.

Through the financial support of the ASID Foundation, the students not only get the will and strength to keep on reaching their educational goals but at the same time the foundation makes difference in the many lives interested in this profession.

 

Who's eligible?

If you are thinking about applying for the ASID Foundation Legacy Scholarship, it would be significant to know that this award is open only to students who are enrolled in or have been accepted for admission to a graduate-level interior design program at an accredited university.

The scholarship winner will be determined on the basis of academic accomplishment, creative achievement, and personal statement.

Apply only if you meet the eligibility requirements, as ineligible candidates will be rejected.

How to Apply

Part of the application process is that applicants must write an essay on the following subject: “As an interior designer, how will you embrace and advance the professional trend to positively impact health and well-being in your anticipated area of design practice?”

The application requirements besides the personal essay of 1000 word maximum include:

  • Current transcript or proof of enrollment
  • Design portfolio
  • Letter of recommendation
  • A biographical statement which should be maximum 250 words
  • Headshot

The application period lasts from February to April, so make sure you submit the application documents on time.

The deadline is on April 18th, and late and incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration, even though the applicant is eligible for the ASID Legacy Scholarship for Graduate Students.
