American Veterinary Medical Association Scholarship

The foundation believes that by investing in the education of America’s veterinary students they will ensure that future veterinarians have the skills and training necessary to treat animals.

So, they keep on supporting younger generations to achieve their goals in veterinary medicine.

Full Description

The AVMA is the oldest and largest non-profit veterinary medical organization in the world.

The reason why this scholarship fund is established is to advance the science and art of veterinary medicine, including its relationship to public health and agriculture.

Who's eligible?

Since its foundation, the scholarship committee has determined the eligibility criteria, being that not everyone can apply for it.

The scholarship is available only to AVMA members who are pursuing a four-year degree in animal nutrition; animal, dairy, equine or poultry science; animal breeding and genetics; biological sciences or pre-vet/vet sciences.

The preference will be given to those applicants planning a career in veterinary medicine or veterinary food supply/public health.

The applicant must be a member of FFA, must have a valid mailing address in the U.S. and must obtain FFA advisor’s electronic approval on Signature Page.

The award is available to those students who have made extraordinary accomplishments in their education and the winner will be selected according to his/her academic excellence, leadership, and financial need.

Final decisions will be based on recommendations from the AVMF’s Grants and Awards Sub-committee on Student Scholarships.
