ABA Academic Merit Scholarship

ABA Academic Merit Scholarship is supported by the American Bus Association which exists since 1926, and is considered one of the oldest, biggest and most regarded voice in the business.

ABA constantly grants and scholarships to people who show financial need.

American Bus Association awards up to $5,000 to two students who must maintain a minimum GPA of a 3.4 on a 4.0 scale

This scholarship is open to ABA members and non-members.

Winners will be determined based on the applicants academic merit, extracurricular activities, and anticipated financial need.

The competition results will be announced in June.

People who considered themselves eligible should apply once the application process is opened.

Who's eligible?

If you think about whether you are eligible for this scholarship or not, here are some of the requirements that you have to meet so as to be accepted as a possible candidate.

The applicant must be an undergraduate student, a graduate student or a postgraduate student who attends a four-year college and has a minimum 3.5 GPA.

He/she must study full-time and the acceptable fields of studying are Transportation, Travel and Tourism.

How to Apply

If you are interested in applying, here are some guidelines on how to apply and what you will need.

You are required to complete and submit the application form.

It is important to provide accurate answers to the questions.

You will need to apply online between December 7th and April 6th, but you will be asked to create an account to submit applications before the program deadline.

Being that this is a need based scholarship, the students applying must have been completed their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application first to determine the financial position of a student’s family.

You will also need to write an essay in which you will speak about how your major or course of study is relevant to the transportation, travel, and tourism industries.

Transportation, travel and tourism involves a varying range of professions.
