The Women’s International Network of Utility Professionals (WiNUP) offers three fellowships which are aimed at females pursuing advanced degrees.

Full Description

The three fellowships are the Julia Kiene Fellowship of $2000 for women who pursue careers in the industry, The Lyle Mamer Fellowship of $1000 and the Louisan Mamer Fellowship of $500.

Ms. Kiene was a president of the organization and served on the Board of Directors for WiNUP’s parent organization, Lyle Mamer was an active member of  WiNUP so, her family endowed the fellowship in her name while Louisan Mamer was the first woman to be awarded the Clyde T. Ellis Award.

Students should know that the fellowship funds will be paid directly to the chosen university.

Who's eligible?

The eligible candidates are females who are pursuing beyond a bachelor’s degree which will lead to careers in the utility industry such as engineering, business administration, accounting, environmental sciences, communication, information technologies.

When it comes to other eligibility requirements, the applicant must be accepted to a regionally or nationally accredited university.

How to Apply

The application process consists of completing the application electronically and make sure that all sections are completed.

Then, you need to print it on white, 8 ½ x 11 pages, one side only and sign the document.

The required details that the application should include are a paragraph outlining educational student status and a list of extra-curricular activities such as community, professional and social organizations, publications, music, sports, etc.

You are also supposed to explain in a brief paragraph your financial status and how your undergraduate and any post-graduate college education was financed.

Two letters of references are required and these should be from members of the college faculty who are well acquainted with your work.

The Application Form, references and Official Transcripts must be received before May 1st and if awarded, the applicant will be notified by June 30th.
