Western Digital is committed to awarding up to $1 million annually to assist students whose educational opportunities will be expanded by financial assistance.

The organization is there to help those who are achieving STEM education and are underrepresented and underprivileged students.

 

Full Description

The Western Digital Scholarship Program has the aim to support future scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians who are willing to achieve higher educational goals but need financial aid.

The whole program awards up to $1 million in scholarships.

The fund is offering up to 400 one-time scholarships, ranging from $1,500 to $5,000 every year and applicants may re-apply.

The scholarships money can be used only for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and other education related expenses.

Who's eligible?

There is no need to apply for this award if you do not meet the eligibility requirements.

You have to be an undergraduate student enrolled on a full-time basis at a four-year accredited University.

The university has to be located in the above mentioned countries.

Furthermore, the applicant has to be majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Science and achieves the minimum grade average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Financial need has to be presented and under-represented populations including females and individuals of African-American or Latino descent in the United States would have priority.

How to Apply

The application process is hosted by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc.

The application form can be found on the scholarship provider’s website.

The documentation that has to be submitted with the application form are:

  • High School transcript
  • ACT/SAT test scores
  • College/University Transcript
  •  Tax Return (first page showing AGI)
  • FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR)

When the international applicants are in question, what they need to provide is:

  • Secondary School transcript
  • College/University Transcript
  • Copy of Parent/Guardian’s official income statement or letter from an employer stating income and benefits.

All the above mentioned documentation should be uploaded to your online application before the application deadline, so it is important to be well informed and follow the upload instructions exactly, so as to avoid that your application remains incomplete.

The deadline for application submission is 3rd April and the scholarship is not a renewable one.
