Vincent and Catherine Sansalone Scholarship

The Vincent and Catherine Sansalone Scholarship is provided by the Fairmont State University with the aim to assist students in their effort to reach high education degrees and to award their talent, merit, and need.

The scholarship is provided through the Fairmont State Foundation and their generous donors and Institutional Funds.

The amount of the award, as well as the number of winners, vary, so interested students are suggested to check the scholarship page for the exact details once the application process starts.

Please note that deadlines can sometimes change.

However, the Vincent & Catherine Sansalone Scholarship month is February, so make sure you submit all the documents prior to February 1st.

Who's eligible?

The eligibility requirements set by the scholarship committee which will determine the winner of the Vincent and Catherine Sansalone Scholarship and which will make it easier to select it among all applicants are the following:

The Vincent and Catherine Sansalone Scholarship recipient is selected by the College of Science and Technology and must be majoring in a math or science discipline with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to students of Italian American heritage.

Eligible Grade Levels are College Freshman, College Sophomore, College Junior, and there is no state residency requirement for this scholarship.

The eligible applicant should be pursuing a degree in one of the eligible majors such as:

Accounting, Applied Science, Applied Technology, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Technology, Microbiology, Physics, Physiology & Neurobiology, etc.

How to Apply

When the application procedure is in question, students may be required to submit a paper describing the influences of their heritage and culture in their life with the completed application form.

The scholarship winners will be determined based on academic achievement, leadership and/or other contributions.

Be sure you apply on time and submit complete application packets via the ‘Common’ application which will be available on November 1st.

If you submit an incomplete application, it will not be taken into consideration.
