The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation offers this contest with the aim to support young video makers and they reserve the right to publish or broadcast all the videos submitted to the contest.

A committee of filmmakers and educators selected by the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation will determine who the winners will be based on the originality of ideas, creativity, and clarity of expression.

The awards that are prepared for the most deserving candidates are:

1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $300
3rd Place: $200

Make sure that you submit the applications with all the material before the deadline on April 1st.

The winners will be announced on April 17th.

Some of the rules related to the contest are that submission must be in English and must not exceed two and minutes in length.

Who's eligible?

When it comes to eligibility criteria, employees or paid consultants of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, or their immediate family members, are not eligible for a prize.

The Swackhamer Disarmament Video Contest is for people who are able to submit short videos on an aspect of nuclear disarmament.

Each year the topic is different and the video should be rated to it and answer some of the questions set by the committee. ‍

How to Apply

Those who are eligible and interested in entering this contest should know that there are three ways of entering.

You can upload materials directly to Facebook, by going to the contest’s Facebook page and “Like” it and then do the uploading of your video.

Then you should send an email to rwayman@napf.org with your video’s title, your name, and your preferred email address.

The second way is to upload the video on your YouTube account and submit a link.

You are required to visit the contest’s Facebook page and “Like” it and then post the URL of your YouTube video to the contest’s Facebook page.

Last, but not least is to email the video by going to www.wetransfer.com, click on “Add Files” and in the “Friend’s Email” field, enter rwayman@napf.org.

In the “Your Email” field, you should enter your email address while in the “Message” field, you need to enter your full name and the video title.
