Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry Foundation is doing its best to provide a safe, high quality agricultural and forestry products and at the same time protect the natural environment.

The Sustainable Agriculture & Forestry Scholarship Endowment Fund offer a fall season scholarship annually and award one deserving student with amazing $5000.

Who's eligible?

The eligibility criterion that has to be met is the following:

Firstly, the eligible applicants must have a demonstrated strong interest and commitment to completely sustainable agricultural and forestry practices.

This means that they should be committed to protecting and preserving our natural resources and environment.

Furthermore, he/she has to possess strong communication skills and leadership characteristics.

When we speak about sustainability, what can be included is the protection and preservation of energy, climate, and built environments.

Also, the eligible applicants must be residents of one of the 11 Southeast Counties of the State of Minnesota which involve Rice, Goodhue, Wabasha, Steele, Dodge, Olmsted, Winona, Freeborn, Mower, Fillmore, and Houston counties.

Last, but not the least, he/she has to attend educational public or non-profit private educational institutions in the five state area of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota.

How to Apply

The Student Scholarship Application is usually published on January 15th and it ends on March 30th.

The online application form can be found on the Rochester Area Foundation website.

Before starting filling out the application for, it is advisable to gather all of the information you will need.

You will need to provide your most recent high school or college transcripts, as well as the list of work experience, volunteer activities, and extracurriculars.

You will have to carefully follow the instructions as you might need the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form or a Student Aid Report (SAR).

The necessary part of the application process is the creation of your account by which your eligibility will be determined

The lucky winners of this award will be announced on June 1st and will be notified by email.

If you  the recipient of this scholarship you will need to provide your college choice form by June 15th due to the fact that the scholarship award is given to the school and not to the student directly.

The date when chosen school will get the check is July 31st.
