The Educational Theatre Association offers a variety of scholarships and one of them is the Robert L. Johnson/Hector S. Cruz Scholarship.

The aim of the organization is to recognize student achievement through its scholarship opportunities and to help students with financial need achieve their goals which would not be possible without financial support.

The Educational Theatre Association dedicated themselves to promoting educational theatre and that is why they are awarding so many grants, awards and scholarships annually, believing that the future is in younger generations who need to be supported so as to be able to fulfill their dreams and work on the improvement of the current theatre position.

Full Description

The Robert L. Johnson/Hector S. Cruz Scholarship is awarded annually to one lucky recipient and the amount is $2000.

This is a four-year scholarship for acting or technical theatre.

The initial award of $500 and it is renewable for three additional years, up to a maximum of $2,000.

Who's eligible?

When the eligibility criteria is in question, the Robert L. Johnson/Hector S. Cruz Scholarship is available to college freshman and college sophomore and it is important to know that it is a merit based scholarship.

Robert L. Johnson/Hector S. Cruz Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who is demonstrating outstanding professional potential for future success in acting or technical theatre.

All the other eligibility requirements will be available once the scholarship application process is open.

How to Apply

The application process and all the details about this scholarship are available through Thespian troupe directors beginning in February.

Make sure to submit all the necessary documentation prior to deadline on May 1st.

The application process for any scholarship provided by the  Educational Theatre Association is done online.
