The Naval Postgraduate School’s (NPS) Center for Cybersecurity and Cyber Operations (C3O) has a great desire to financially support thus highlighting those deserving and excellent students who are planning to reach a career in STEM or MONARCH program.

The scholarship program does not entail enrollment in the military.

 

Full Description

This is an amazing offer, being that students are paid up to $43,000 annually.

This money is used for the tuition which is $34,000/year at NPS; allowances for health care reimbursement which are up to $3,000/year; an allowance for book reimbursement which are up to $2,000/year; and professional development reimbursement which is up to $4,000/year.

The Civilian Master’s Degree Scholarship – STEM and Monarch Program scholars will receive their Master’s Degree and move on to CIVILIAN government jobs in such organizations as the CIA, FBI, NSA, and others.

If you happen to get the award, you will not only receive a paid tuition at NPS for two year Master’s Degree in Computer Science, emphasis in Information Assurance, but also the access to state-of-the-art equipment and the opportunity to participate in classified classes and research, as well as the chance to participate in a summer internship to gain real-world experience.

Who's eligible?

When it comes to the qualifications for STEM Program, you should know that it is designed for individuals with a Bachelors’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, and they need to meet all the program requirements.

The additional requirements are a minimum GPA of 3.0 and great knowledge in specific computer fields and math.

Students must be proficient in a language such as C, C++, Java or Ada.

When the MONARCH Program is in question, this program is designed for anyone with a Bachelors’s degree in any undergraduate field that has the aptitude and desire to study Computer Science.

The selection committee is most interested in applicants who have little or no computer science background but should emphasize their desire to work for the Federal Government in an Information Assurance related position.
