The National Poultry & Food Distributors Association is pleased to award scholarships to various students of agricultural colleges and universities across the US.

Since its foundation in 1979, the association has given almost $260,000 to rising leaders and they have only awarded deserving students with a scholarship which is there help them complete their college education and reach their degrees.

Full Description

Each winner will receive a $4,000 scholarship and the number of awardees varies.

In previous years, the number of students to be awarded has increased to 5, so it is up to $20000 scholarship award per year.

The scholarship is available thanks to private cash donations and donations to NPFDA’s annual silent auction.

Who's eligible?

The qualifications that each applicant for this scholarship should have is to be enrolled as a full time college junior or senior the upcoming year at a U.S. institution and to be pursuing a degree in  one of the following fields –  Agricultural Business, Poultry Science, Food Science, Animal Science, Pre Vet, Food Marketing, Agricultural Economy

The scholarship is only available to an employee of a NPFDA Member Company or a child of an employee of a NPFDA Member Company.

If you are wondering how to apply, you should know that the official site offers the application form link and by clicking on it, the application process will start.

You will have to create an account and determine your username and password.

There, you will be able to fill out the application form and submit all the required documents.

The deadline for the application submission is May 31st and by that moment, the applicants are supposed to provide official transcripts, a letter of recommendation from their Dean, Department Head and/or advisor and a 500-word essay speaking about their goals and aspirations.

The essay can be typed or uploaded as an attachment on the online system, while a letter of recommendation and official transcripts should be mailed separately to the following address:
