The scholarship is designed to financially support any Georgia high school senior graduating by the spring of the current academic year or any Georgia student currently enrolled in a school of accredited higher education located in Georgia.

However, the degree field of study has to be related to government/law enforcement, political science, accounting/finance or business, pre-law.

The scholarship provider has to offer four scholarships, each for $1,000.

The Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia, Inc. Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship recipients based on the essay.

Who's eligible?

If you want to know that the eligibility criteria are, here are some basic facts.

The COAG Scholarship is open to any Georgia high school senior who is the United States and Georgia citizen.

However, he/she must be seeking an undergraduate degree, not a diploma, certification, master’s or doctoral degree so as to be eligible for this award.

Four scholarships are available, each for $1,000.

How to Apply

What you will have to do as your application process is to first submit a COAG scholarship application that may be downloaded from the official website – www.coagonline.org.

Then, you are supposed to present a letter of acceptance or letter of enrollment from a school of accredited higher education located within Georgia and this can be either a four-year college, junior college or technical college.

You will also have to provide proof of residency in the State of Georgia such as Georgia Driver’s License or Georgia issues identification card.

Last but not least, all applicants must submit a 1,000-word essay that must be typed or computer-generated, written in the English language.

All essays must be original works of applicants and should answer a question that is changed annually.

The Essay Theme for this year is:

Every county in the State of Georgia has elected government officials known as “constitutional officers.” Interview a constitutional officer in your county. Spend some time with them and describe things that they do on a daily basis.

All applications must be received no later than March 13, and the Scholarship Application Packet should include the following items:

  • Scholarship Application Form
  • Title Page
  • 1,000 Word Essay
  • Proof of acceptance from a school
  • Proof of Georgia residency
