NEWH San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is offering two $5,000 and two $10,000 scholarships to students who are pursuing careers affiliated in the hospitality industry.

The awards are outstanding and can be very beneficial, being that educational expenses are so great.

If you happen to be the lucky scholarship winners, you will be awarded at the chapter scholarship Gala and as all the other scholarship recipients, you must be able to attend the awards event.

The application process opens in spring and lasts until July 1st, so you are supposed to submit all the documentation prior to that moment.

This is considered a great opportunity for people with financial need, so they are encouraged to apply and may be the winners who will benefit a lot from it.

Who's eligible?

NEWH ICON of Industry scholarship is available only to outstanding interior design students that meet the eligibility criteria and those who do not meet it are advised not to apply as they will be wasting both their own and committee’s time.

The eligibility requirements are the following:

The student has to be actively enrolled 4-year sophomore/second year and above, or graduate level.

He/she has to maintain 3.0 GPA overall “B” average or grade percentage of 83% – 86% equivalent.

The applicant has to prove financial need through college for past/current/upcoming tuition.

He/she has to be trying to reach Interior design major with hospitality career focus and must have participated in an industry internship program or similar position.

Great thing is that scholarships are open to international students and NEWH membership is not required.

How to Apply

The application process is easy and with your application which should be filled out with honest answers you are required to submit:

  • Official Transcript
  • Up to 3 letters of recommendation from professor, advisor, employer.
  • Resume Internship essay which will not be longer than 500-words in which you will be describing internship and provide analysis of benefits/personal growth it gave you.

You are supposed to speak about your background and experience, goals and objectives after graduation, contributions you have made to your school program and how important the obtaining of this scholarship is to you.
