NEWH, Inc. and its chapters provide scholarships for eligible students wishing to enter the Hospitality Industry.

NEWH Chapters offer scholarships annually and three lucky winners will get $5000 each.

Full Description

Scholarships winners will be determined based on NEWH scholarship criteria: selected major and career selection, debt through college, GPA, student background and references.

Awarded funds are made payable to students’ college and mailed directly to the college so that the money may only be applied toward tuition or program approved books/supplies.

The deadline for the application package submission is February 17th, but you are highly suggested not to wait for the last moment to submit your application, but to do that as soon as the application process starts.

Who's eligible?

So as to be considered as a possible winner, the applicant must meet the qualifying criteria.

The scholarship is available to actively enrolled student: 2-year program freshman and above, 4-year sophomore/second year and above, or graduate level attending college in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska with 3.0 GPA (cumulative) overall “B” average or grade percentage of 83% – 86% equivalent.

Financial needs through college for past/current/upcoming tuition or program approved books/supplies have to be proved.

The applicant must be pursuing a major and career objective within a hospitality-related field, such as interior design, hospitality management, culinary, etc.

How to Apply

Now that you are sure you are eligible for the award, you must think about which documents are required to be included with your application.

These are the following:

Official Transcript (Only official transcripts are accepted)

Up to 3 letters of recommendation from professor, advisor, employer, etc.

Student essay 500-word maximum in which you will be speaking about

  • -Background of yourself and your experience
  • -Your goals and objectives after graduation
  • -What prompted you to choose this career?
  • -Contributions you have made to your school program or to fellow students through leadership/participation
  • -Why is obtaining this scholarship important to you?
  • -If your application is not accepted, what plans do you have for financing?

All application material has to be submitted prior to the application deadline either by email or mail.

However, they prefer you to collect all items and combine them all into a PDF document, apply online and upload your PDF.
