Lincoln Legal Professionals Association Scholarship

The Lincoln Legal Professionals Association members are eager to promote continuing professionalism in the legal field, so they are offering a $1500 scholarship.

Full Description

The Lincoln Legal Professionals Association members keep on promoting continuing professionalism in the legal field and they understand that continuing education is important in this field.

The Lincoln Legal Professionals Association awards a scholarship each year in April and the amount of the scholarship varies year to year.

The number of recipients and the amount of the scholarships is determined by the LLPA Board of Directors, so you should get familiar with the timeline and requirements annually, as they might change.

Who's eligible?

The Lincoln Legal Professionals Association Scholarship is available to a Nebraska high school or college student who wishes to further his or her education in the legal support field at an institution of higher education and who carries a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

A great thing to know is that eligible applicants are both new and returning college students.

If you do not meet the above-mentioned criteria, you are suggested not to waste your time applying, as your application will certainly be rejected.

How to Apply

It is very significant that the applicant is familiar with the requirements and they include the following:

  • A Completed Scholarship Application with accurate and honest answers
  • A certified copy of your latest grade transcript which can prove your GPA
  • A resume listing educational history, work history, and school/community activities
  • A typed, one-page personal statement stating why you wish to enter the legal support field or continue your formal legal education.

An eligible applicant is required to submit all the documents, without exception, so that the application is considered complete.

The scholarship application with all these additional documents must be received by March 18 and they should be sent to Woods & Aitken LLP ATTN: Sheila Anderson, LLPA Scholarship Chair 301 S. 13th Street, Suite 500, Lincoln, NE 68508 (402) 437-8500, or at sanderson@woodsaitken.com.
