The L. Ron Hubbard Writers of The Future Contest is a competition for both new and amateur aspiring writers.
The awards are three cash prizes in each quarter: a first-place prize of $1,000, a second-place prize of $750, and a third-place prize of $500.
Besides the money award received during the year, at the end of the year, the winners will have their entries re-judged, and a grand prize winner shall be determined and receive an additional $5,000.
The L. Ron Hubbard Writers of The Future Contest is proud to be the most enduring and influential contest in the history of SF and Fantasy.
The reason why there are so many applicants for the L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest is that young writers get an opportunity to have their work judged by some of the masters in the field and at the same time to be discovered by a wide audience.
There is no entry fee required, entrants retain all publication rights and the entries in the Writers of the Future Contest are judged only by professional writers.
The applicants can take part in it on a quarterly basis.
The only way of being accepted as a regular candidate for the award is to meet the eligibility requirements.
An eligible entry is any previously unpublished short story or novelette which should not be longer than 17,000 words of science fiction or fantasy.
All types of science fiction, fantasy, and dark fantasy are considered eligible for the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of The Future Contest.
Previous winners are ineligible for the contest.
