IFDA Leaders Commemorative Scholarship is available thanks to a generous sponsor International Furnishings and Design Association Educational Foundation.

 

Full Description

If you happen to be the lucky recipient of this award, you can spend the received money on any undergraduate study at any post-secondary institution, but it can only be used for educational expenses.

There is only one winner of $1500 award each year, and he/she is selected by the scholarhsip commeette after a detailed review of all the applications received.

Who's eligible?

When the eligibility requirements are in question, the award is only available to U.S. citizens and Permanent residents who are pursuing a degree in Design and Interior design field of study at qualified educational institutions.

In order to be accepted as a possible scholarship winner, the student must be involved with volunteer or community service and have held leadership positions in the past five years.

All applicants must have completed four design courses in post-secondary education at the time of application and be majoring in Interior Design or a related field.

Students with a commitment to public service will be given preference.

Ineligible applicants are suggested not to apply, as they will be rejected.

How to Apply

Once you determine your eligibility, you need to submit the completed application packet which must include a transcript of course work that verifies the full-time status and demonstrates your GPA.

It is very important that you get familiar with the application requirements and provide all the required details including:

  • Portfolio – containing two different examples of your original design work
  • Letter of Recommendation – from an instructor/professor
  • Essay – 300-400 word long speaking about your long and short term goals,
  • The transcript should be sent with your PDF files.

All the above-mentioned documentation must be submitted by the deadline and the moment when the application process finishes.

However, you need to have in mind that the deadline date is determined each year and might vary.

Late and incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration, even though the candidate is eligible for the IFDA Leaders Commemorative Scholarship.
