Full Description

The Harry Emley and Mary Joslin Bennett Scholarship is designed to help young people  residing in the Shelby County – Ohio, who have the aim of studying agriculture at an accredited college or university, but might not have enough financial assets to pay expensive education fees.

The award granted can be only used for the payment of tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses of instruction at an accredited college or university.

Who's eligible?

Harry Emley and Mary Joslin Bennett Scholarship scholarship is one of a few scholarships provided by the Community Foundation of Shelby County and they require that the recipient attend an accredited college, university, or technical high school.

Once you submit your application is a matching application, you will be automatically matched with scholarships for which you may be eligible.

The Harry Emley and Mary Joslin Bennett Scholarship requires that the applicant attends college or be a High School Senior pursuing a degree in the following fields: Agribusiness, Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal Science, Business and Horticulture.

There is no need to worry about your GPA score, as this is not determined as an eligibility criterion, but you have to be a resident of Ohio.

How to Apply

It is important to have certain documents and information prepared  before you start filling out the application form.

You might be asked to provide a high school transcript or college report, a list of school and community service activities and college cost of attendance information which vary from one college to another.

The information that you should provide are the school district where you live, the county where you live and your cumulative grade point average.

Furthermore, you have to submit at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, advisor, employer or other non‐family reference.

In case you submit the application without a letter attached, your application will not be considered for scholarships.
