The Friends of the California State Fair Scholarship Program exists since 1993 and during all these years it has been helping the most promising students who had financial need which made them unable to achieve their educational goals.

They emphasize the fact that young people need support and help during their education, especially those who do not have enough financial assets.

The Friends of the California State Fair award scholarships each year with the aim to help students achieve their goals.

The amount offered differs and ranges from $1,000 to $2,500 which is enough to cover the basic education expenses.

The scholarship is aimed at college students and graduating high school seniors with high academic achievements, leadership potential and civic accomplishments.

 

Who's eligible?

The most important question asked is who is eligible to apply for this scholarship and The Friends of the California State Fair would offer 14 categories of scholarships with varying eligibility requirements.

There is a limit to apply one scholarship category per year.

The criteria for each scholarship is different and the applicant can find the information on the official scholarship provider’s website

What an agricultural student needs to fulfill so as to be eligible for the scholarship is to have successfully completed 12 units of coursework credit in Agricultural classes, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be a California resident with a valid ID.

How to Apply

In order to apply for this scholarship, eligible applicants are required to follow the steps that can be found on the organization’s website and they include creating an account and filling out the application form.
The required documents should be sent before the application deadline on February 28th.

One of the necessary documentation that should be provided is the official transcripts from the applicant’s high school administration office, or college registrar office and only those documents that meet the criteria required for this application and which are uploaded by the deadline will be taken into consideration.

The scholarship recipients will be notified about the award by the end of May while the checks will be issued in August.

This scholarship is not renewable.
