Central Minnesota Arts Board Student Arts Scholarship

The Central Minnesota Arts Board (CMAB) awards Arts Scholarships to students totaling $24,000 and it is designed to support individuals pursuing undergraduate degrees in the arts, but the pplicants must be residents of Region 7W and may attend college or university anywhere.

Full Description

Students appreciate the fact that ten 2-year and ten vocational/technical awards are offered each year and the amount awarded is $1,500 per year.

The Scholarship Committee will determine the most deserving 14 future scholars who have submitted all the documentation prior to the application deadline on February 27th.

Otherwise, the applications will be rejected even though they are eligible.

Who's eligible?

If you are eager to apply for the Central Minnesota Arts Board Student Arts Scholarship, the first thing that you should do is to determine whether or not you are eligible for it.

This scholarship winner could be only high school students interested in attending vocational, technical or 2-year college programs, but the Minnesota Scholarship foundation requires that students must have graduated from a Minnesota high school.

Furthermore, they need to provide information on their career path or area of study and they need to be planning to attend an accredited institution full-time and major in an arts-related field.

People who can apply must be residents of Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, or Wright County at the time of application, or US Citizens or individuals with permanent resident alien status.

How to Apply

Once you determine that you meet the criteria for applying, you should not waste your time but see which files you need for that.

The documentation to applicants has to submit is the following:

  • An official transcript
  • Resume in which the applicant will speak about his/her extra-curricular activities, education plans and the field of study or interest.
  • One essay which should not be longer than 300 words answering the question: “Why should you be rewarded with an MMC Scholarship?”
  • One Letter of Recommendation has to be attached to the scholarship application and it should not be from a family member, but can be from a school administrator a teacher, coach, church leader or community mentor.
