California-Nevada Section, AWWA Scholarship

The California-Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association is offering both undergraduate and graduate scholarships for students who show a great interest in a career in a drinking water-related field.

Four scholarships are aimed at those pursuing a two-year or four-year college degree program, and two $5,000 scholarships for those pursuing graduate studies at the masters or doctorate levels.

Furthermore, two $1,000 One AWWA Operator scholarships for those studying to be a drinking water operator and one $1,000 undergraduate scholarship in the memory of Linda Contreras.

Full Description

The CA-NV Section Graduate Scholarship is aimed at nine lucky recipients who will get a $5,000 award each.

They will be selected among all the candidates, based on their academic achievements and other materials provided with the application form.

Who's eligible?

The CA-NV AWWA Scholarship Program support students interested in a career in a drinking water-related field and those are environmental and civil engineers; water, wastewater, and recycling treatment plant operators; distribution system operators; chemists; laboratory technicians; biologists, ecologists, and environmental scientists; mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades, etc.

If you do not meet the requirements, you are suggested not to apply, as your application will not be taken into consideration.

How to Apply

It is very significant that the applicant gets familiar with the application checklist, being that he/she is responsible that all the materials are received on time.

Late and incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration and the applicant will not get the opportunity to submit them later on.

Those applying for the California-Nevada Section, AWWA Scholarship, they need to provide the following:

  1. Completed application form and resume
  2. Your academic transcripts
  3. Two letters of recommendation
  4. Statement of interest in a drinking water career

Those applying for a graduate scholarship will have to submit their graduate study plan.

Completed application packages must be mailed or emailed to arrive by March 15th when the application process ends.
