The Association of Women Contractors serves all talented women business owners and professionals in the Minnesota construction industry and since its inception in 1995 it gas gathered more than 200 professionals who are working on some of the biggest commercial, residential and transportation projects in the state of Minnesota and at the same time offer outstanding support to those who struggle with financial difficulties.

Association of Women Contractors is an organization which awards numerous scholarships to females entering construction-related careers.

The Association of Women Contractors has a desire to reach equity in terms of the ratio of women-owned businesses and women in the construction industry.

So, they offer financial support in the form of scholarships.

AWC provides two types of scholarships for outstanding females.

Who's eligible?

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you do not only need to be a woman but also to be a resident of Minnesota.

Applicants must be students who are attending post-high school education and who are studying the construction industry, including but not limited to Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, and Construction Trade programs.

Also, students can be entering or currently working as a construction trade apprentice.

Ineligible applicants are suggested not to waste their time applying, as their applications will not be considered for the award.

How to Apply

People interested in applying for this scholarship should follow the dates and the application procedure, being that all applications must be received online or postmarked by April 30 each year.

The applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee and the applicants will be notified about the award by May 30.

The award is not renewable and the award checks will be issued by The Association of Women Contractors to the recipient’s school, while the apprenticeship scholarships are paid to the recipient directly in two payments.
