Believing that music can unite people, Arkansas Chamber Singers Vocal/Choral Music has decided to award scholarships which will not only encourage people interested in music to try to reach their goals, but would successfully promote the art of choral music.

The scholarship receivers are believed to be future musicians who will continue enriching the lives of the people of Arkansas.

Full Description

The Arkansas Chamber Singers is a vocal ensemble which is trying to help people of Arkansas interested in achieving higher education in the field of music by awarding scholarships.

The possible award is $1,000 for the first and $500 for the second place, which will be paid directly to the student once he/she enters the chosen college.

Who's eligible?

The Arkansas Chamber Singers Vocal/Choral Music Scholarship is designed to help a graduating senior from a
public or private high school in Arkansas, but there are certain eligibility requirements that the applicant has to meet in order to be among the possible recipients.

You must have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0, besides planning to major in music at an accredited four-year institution.

Furthermore, you must be enrolled in the choral music program at the high school.

How to Apply

The deadline for submitting the application forms in December 14, but besides the actual form which can  be found on the organization’s website, you have to attach three sealed letters of recommendation.

They need to be from your high school choral music teacher,  another of your teachers and a community leader.

Furthermore, you are required to submit a 300 words essay about your desires to have a career in music.

Official sealed high school transcript is necessary to prove your grades.

The application is one part of job, while auditions and interviews are the second part.

These are held on Sunday, January 27, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church, located at 321 Pleasant Valley Road in Little Rock.

The applicant should prepare two pieces of contrasting styles.

Soon after the audition and interview, the decision will be  made and the receiver, as well as all other applicants will be notified of their status.
