Apprentice Ecologist Scholarship is designed for young people who act responsibly toward protecting wildlife and the environment,

It is their aim to support the next generation of conservation leaders worldwide and give them certain amount of financial aid to encourage them to endure in their desires and strivings related to agriculture, nature and environment.

Full Description

The goals of this program is to elevate youth into leadership roles by engaging them in environmental cleanup and conservation projects, and that way improve local living conditions.

In order to get this award, you only need to register and submit your essay, and you will automatically be considered for a scholarship.

Essays will be judged by a committee of Nicodemus Wilderness Project board members, and the deadline for uploading your Apprentice Ecologist project essay is December 31.

The winners will be announced online on April 22.

Who's eligible?

School and community groups, especially those working with at-risk and disadvantaged youth, are encouraged to participate due to the fact that the Apprentice Ecologist Initiative awards three scholarships.

Applicants should demonstrate personal leadership and environmental stewardship in their project.

Students enrolled at middle school, high school, or undergraduate college/university students are eligible to apply if they are aged 13-21.

 

How to Apply

In order to become an official Apprentice Ecologist and be considered for a scholarship you will have to do the following.

First, you will have to conduct your own environmental stewardship project in 2019 and take a few digital photos of your project in action.

Then, you will have to write an essay about your project and what it meant to you, 750 to 1,500 words long.

Good things to know when writing an award-winning essay is that you should describe your personal background and why you chose to do an Apprentice Ecologist project, describe the area where you conducted your project and details about what you did and accomplished during it.

You should also include your opinion on why you think it is important to take care of the area where you conducted your project.

These documents have to be submitted on the official website of this organization, by registering.

Your project photo and essay will then be published on Global Registry of Apprentice Ecologists.
