Ann Seki Memorial Scholarship

The Ann Seki Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by Chevron and it is awarded in memory of Ann Seki, who was known as an original member of the Chevron Hispanic Recruiting Team.

This scholarship has been awarded since 2010.

Full Description

This is a merit-based scholarship ranging in amounts from $500 to $10,000, which is determined annually.

Who's eligible?

So as to be eligible for the award the applicant must meet the eligibility criteria set by the scholarship committee.

He/she must be a U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident.

The applicant has to show excellent academic standing with a minimum 3.3 GPA.

He/she has to be majoring in Engineering and be a freshman, sophomore, or junior in college.

Applicants must demonstrate merit through academic achievements, leadership and campus/community activities

How to Apply

Here are some basic guidelines related to the application submission process that each applicant must be acquainted with:

You are supposed to complete the online GMiS Scholarship Application Form and submit:

  • your personal statement – which should be 700 – 850 words and you are supposed to answer the following three-part question as a single essay
  • resume -one-page limit
  • letters of recommendation – one letter from an advisor, dean, principal, faculty or instructor and One letter from a friend, classmate, lab partner, teammate, member of a student/youth organization
  • official transcript(s)- when the transcripts are in question, they must contain the seal of your high school/college/university and/or the signature of the Registrar, as well as the words “Official Transcript.” Furthermore, the cumulative GPA, weighted or unweighted, must appear on the transcript, otherwise, the transcript will be considered invalid. The calculation of your GPA’s must be done by your school; and
  • a photo – which will be used for publications of scholarship recipients, in print and online.

All these documents must be uploaded by April 1 when the application procedure ends.

Late and incomplete applications will be rejected.

Upon submission, you will be able to see a confirmation page that will be automatically displayed verifying receipt of your application.

If you did not submit some documents, you will not have the opportunity to submit materials that are missing.

The scholarship recipients will be notified, by email, in August.
