The AFE Scholarships in Floriculture and Horticulture include three different scholarships that are designed to support floriculture and horticulture students.

What the AFE understands and emphasizes is the financial burden that students have to face during their studies and they take their part to help them.

So, the AFE has more than 20 scholarships awarded annually for both undergraduates and graduates.

Full Description

All scholarships are provided as cash awards, ranging from $300 to $4,000 with checks and a scholarship winner will be sent a notification letter by U.S. mail.

The decisions will be made by August and the scholarship committee will choose the most deserving candidate.

Who's eligible?

The eligibility criteria are the following:

You must be pursuing a career that is in a field related to floriculture or horticulture, be a citizen or resident of the U.S. or Canada, or be enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the U.S. or Canada and have a minimum 2.0-grade point average to be considered for these scholarships.

Eligible students for the AFE scholarships are those who are sophomore through graduate-level college students pursuing degrees in floriculture and horticultural fields.

How to Apply

AFE has created separate application forms for undergraduate scholarships and graduate scholarships so you need to make sure to complete the correct application form.

If you are wondering how to apply, you should know that you are supposed to complete one application online and provide supporting documents such as transcripts and two letters of recommendation from a teacher evaluating you as a student and one from an employer evaluating you as a worker.

Last but not least, you are supposed to write a clear and concise career goal statement as this is the most important part of your application and it should show your passion for these two fields.

The application process is done online and besides the application form, you are supposed to provide supporting documents by May 1st each year.

AFE Scholarship Application for Undergraduates requires that all applications provide a current email address, as well as a permanent and current address.
