The USA Fencing High School All-Academic Program together with Absolute Fencing Gear offers impressive annual awards to high school-aged members who show high interest in fencing.

Those are usually USA Fencing athletes who want to become students and achieve great accomplishments in this field.

The scholarship is designed for high school students who are planning further higher education, but might not have enough financial assets.

Full Description

The award that Absolute Fencing Gear prepare every year is amazing $10,000.

The scholarship will be divided into 4 winners, a male and a female who are the best will receive $4000 each, while two additional applicants will receive $1,000.

The price of $4000 will depend both on the GPA and the written essay, while the $1000 award will be given to those applicants who have submitted a good essay.

Who's eligible?

As you might think, the scholarship is not for everyone, as it is designed only for those athletes who have a GPA of at least 3.85 or better and these athletes are named the First All-Academic Team.

Second Team represents athletes with GPAs which are lower, actually from 3.7 – 3.84.(87 to 93).

The third team is the Honorable Mention Team including students with even lower GPAs – 3.5 – 3.69

Those with better GPA will be considered more eligible for this award.

He/she must be a current USA Fencing member.

How to Apply

If you are fulfilling all the above mentioned requirements, then you might apply for the scholarship.

You should  visit their website and find the APPLY button, with all the additional information that you might be concerned of.

What is obligatory is to provide one letter of recommendation,  a school transcript with the class schedule and a 500 word essay.

The essay should be about  the following topic:  If you could change one aspect of fencing, what would it be? How would the change make the sport better for you–and others?

All these documentation must be uploaded with application.

One important thing remember is that only traditional core academic classes will be considered when evaluating transcripts of applicants so as to determine which team do they belong.
